Day of Giving to be Nationally Recognized

Originally launched in 2012 by the YMCA and United Nations Foundation, Giving Tuesday or #GivingTuesday as it is more commonly known, will be celebrating its sixth annual day of giving on Tuesday November 27. 2018 The concept is taken from well known marketing and retail pseudo-holidays Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuessday celebrates the power of philanthropy in all forms around the world and encourages people to take a day and focus on the benefits that thousands of non-profit organizations and charities bring to communities internationally.

On Tuesday November 27, in response to the incredible popularity of #GivingTuesday, a bipartisan resolution has been introduced to recognize November 29, 2018 as a "National Day of Giving and Volunteerism". Congratulations to the dedicated individuals at #GivingTuesday who strive to promote the incredible organizations doing great works of service.
